The interior of a tank landing ship, presumably a LST Mark 2, at Portsmouth, Hampshire

Looking along the port side of the vehicle deck inside a tank landing ship towards the forward end of the vessel, showing the swivelling supports for casualty stretchers. A motor car is parked at the forward end of the vehicle deck and the bow doors are open. The vessel is presumably an American built Mark 2 and was photographed in the Portsmouth area. The Portsmouth Dockyard negative register number P137/44 has been written in the top right corner of the negative.
