Looking along the length of a 15 inch gun barrel in the Gun Barrel Park in the north-east corner of Portsmouth Dockyard. The photographer is standing at the breech end of the gun which has a fractured jacket. The gun's outer cradle collar is in the foreground. This gun was the right gun from the monitor Roberts (1941) which had fractured its jacket off the Normandy beaches on 6 Jun. 1944.
