Fort Cumberland sea wall, Eastney, Portsmouth, Hampshire
Looking west-south-west from the sewer outfall at the east end of Fort Cumberland, Eastney, Portsmouth at low tide. Concrete blocks are randomly scattered about the beach and there is a semi-circular line of steel posts on the foreshore below the high water mark. In the east end of the fort are a large building, a steel frame structure, a building under construction, an HA.DCT (High Angle Director Control Tower) fitted with Type 285 radar, and a battery of light anti-aircaft guns. In the distance is South Parade Pier and Spit Sand Fort.
