The damaged minesweeper Salamander (1936) in Portsmouth Harbour, Hampshire
A stern view of the badly damaged minesweeper Salamander (1936) taken from off the port quarter. She is laid up at moorings in the entrance to Fareham Creek in Portsmouth Harbour. Her stern was destroyed by rocket fire from Royal Air Force Typhoon aircraft off Cap d'Antifer on 27 Aug. 1944. Alongside her and almost completely hidden is the Canadian corvette Port Arthur (1941), pendant number K233.
