No. 1 D.C. Tank being hauled into the experimental research ship Ben Lomond (1945) from a scaffolding platform on the floor of No. 11 Dry Dock in Portsmouth Dockyard, viewed from the top of the dock off the starboard bow. A man is climbing onto the top of the tank to release the hoisting cables as the tank slides between the open doors of the ship. The negative has been broken and repaired.
