North Wall, Fountain Lake, Portsmouth Dockyard, Hampshire
Looking north-west across the west end of North Wall in Portsmouth Dockyard. The quayside has been cleared of all clutter, presumably for resurfacing or repairs to be undertaken. A number of small craft are alongside the wall including MFV 84 (1944), harbour launch 7 and NSC(L) 99 NSC(L) stands for Naval Servicing Craft (Large) and these vessels were converted from Tank Landing Craft. The destroyer Marne (1940), pendant number G35, is laid up at buoys in Portchester Creek in the background.
