A very close detail of part of a large steel collar fitted around the aft end of the hull of the submarine Supreme (1944) in No. 4 Dry Dock, Portsmouth Dockyard, taken from the port side looking forward and to starboard. Draught marks are next to the collar. The Supreme and her sister Stoic (1943) were to be used in experiments to determine safe diving depths for welded and riveted boats of the S Class. Vertical format.
