Inside a deckhouse on the experimental atomic and biological research ship Ben Lomond (1945) during her refit in Portsmouth Dockyard showing one of the laboratories. There are sinks in the work benches with cupboards, drawers and open shelves beneath the benches. A bunsen burner is on the work bench on the left. On the end wall are two units, one labelled as a drying and sterilising oven and the other labelled for sterilising only. Ventilation trunking is fitted to the deckhead. Vertical format.
