The battleship, HMS 'Neptune', at moorings taking on coal
Signed by the artist, lower right. This is a fully finished watercolour of the 'Neptune' (1909) coaling at moorings in 1911, seen from off the starboard bow on a grey day, with two colliers alongside. She is as completed, with a flying deck amidships, and has not yet been given funnel bands. In 1912 her fore-funnel was raised.
