C.W. Cole. Album. Pen & ink sketches of Turkey and the Dardanelles

Album contains thirteen sketches mounted on nine pages, with thirteen blank pages, and six sketches stored loose in album, covering PAF2339-PAF2357.

The artist, Charles W. Cole (1842–1924), was a paymaster in the Royal Navy. Some of the sketches relate to his time as Paymaster, HMS ‘Boscawen’, Portland. Some of his sketches were published in ‘The Graphic’.
