A coastal view, probably in the English Channel
This is a study of a ketch-rigged Thames barge at sea in moderate weather off low white cliffs so probably in the Channel though the location is unclear. The coastal profile suggests it is not Dover despite the suggestion of a fortification on the distant heights. [PvdM 5/15]
