A depiction of the Action of 12 December 1782 between the ‘Mediator’ and the ‘Menagere’ during the American Revolutionary War. ‘Mediator’ is shown in starboard quarter view in the centre-right foreground, her name inscribed on the stern. Five enemy vessels are also present. Engraving. After a painting by Robert Dodd. Engraved by John Peltro. Published by John Harris in 1783.
