Three types of iceberg
Oil painting by Charles Pears, entitled 'Three types of iceberg'. The artist has signed the painting, and added a pencil inscription beneath it. This is not a common subject and Pears's treatment of it -if only coincidentally - recalls similar small oil studies by the 19th-century American painter Frederick Edwin Church.
