The Pilot

A pen and ink outline drawing of the two-masted merchant schooner Pilot in port broadside view under full sail on a starboard tack. She flies an ensign at her stern gaff and a pennant bearing her name and other flag at her mast heads. A conical hill is depicted in the distance on the left of the drawing.

This drawing was probably copied by Vernon C. Boyle from an oil painting (see BHC3553) entitled “The schooner Pilot” (19th century British School), owned and donated to NMM by Harold H. Parkhouse.
