A Dutch flagship before the wind

A ship before the wind, viewed from abaft the port beam, with her fore topsail strip but main topsail on half hoisted and mizzen topsail lowered on the cap. The mizzen half is brailed up. There are a flag and pendant at the main.

A faint offset, rubbed on the back, broadly drawn and of doubtful period. In the Boymans, Museum, Rotterdam (180) there is a drawing on the same paper dated 1681.
