Four women posing in a line, possibly Travellers

A black and white landscape photograph showing four women stood in a line. All the women are wearing ankle-length dresses with patterned aprons. Each also wears a headcovering. The woman on the left of the image is facing the camera, holding up a tambourine in her right hand and striking it with her left. She has a crucifix round her neck. The two women in the middle of the line are stood slightly further away from the camera compared to the two on each end, and are half turned towards it; each has one hand on her hip and the other raised and clasped with that of the other woman, possibly as if performing a dance. The woman on the right of the image is facing the camrea and holding an accordian in both hands. On the ground in the middle of the image is a woven basket. At least two of the women are stood on what appear to be mats placed on the grassy area that surrounds thm. The scence takes place outside, with various bushes in the background as well as a wall or timbered building visible in the background on the left of the image. Original caption (handwritten in pencil beneath): 'When we went gipsying' and 'J.W. R(?)obson'

These woman may be Travellers (a broad term used describe various groups once callied 'gypsies', including but not limited to Romany people).
