The White Terraces (Te Tarata)

The Pink and White Terraces ('Te Otukapuarangi' and 'Te Tarata' in Māori respectively) were famous rock formations, part of a group of hot springs. They were either destroyed or buried when Mount Tarawera erupted in 1886.
