This Print of the H.E.I.C.'s steam frigate Memnon, ... is... dedicated... by... Charles Gunston
This hand-coloured lithograph shows the two-masted paddle ship Memnon, in port broadside view, under steam and sail, with a following wind. A British flag flies from the mizzen gaff. Figures are visible on the deck. There are several other vessels in this view, including a two-masted sailing vessel close hauled on a starboard tack, on the left of the picture, a small local boat in the foreground with three sailors hoisting or lowering its single, square sail and various other sailing vessels in the far distance. A mountainous coastline and a town are visible in the distance.
