Stencilled inscription: 'BODDY PATENT NO 4 / BACK / FRONT / ADULT OR CHILDS LIFE JACKET / WARRENTED BOARD OF TRADE SURVEY'. From SS 'Naiad' of Liverpool, torpedoed off the Scillies 15 December 1916 while bound for Buenos Aires with a cargo of drainpipes.
