carving
Carving continental in style and possible from a vessel. Depicts a male figure with a seventeenth-century style small beard and long moustache. It wears a plumed cap and ruff. The head terminates in scrollwork and has a cherub's head below with carved fruit and foliage. There are iron fittings on the reverse which indicate it is not a figurehead and may be architectural.
