Male figurehead
Half-length polychrome bust figurehead depicting a fashionable gentleman in a double-breasted blue coat, with a rolled collar and high-collared cravat. The dress style indicates British origin within the fairly tight range of about 1828-32, but nothing else is known of the ship though it was presumably built at about this time or shortly afterwards. The figure may, however, be a personal portrait, and possibly of a so-far-unidentified public figure (as was the case until the late 1970s with FHD0023, of Tsar Alexander I).
