Bottle

Large round bodied, green glass bottle with an indented base. Painted in oils, on one side with a portrait of Michiel Adriaenszoon de Ruyter (1607-1676) after Ferdinand Bol, below is a depiction of a naval battle between Dutch and English fleets. On the reverse, two shields of arms suspended by a ribbon bow: a) Or, a lion gules rampant (South Holland) b) Azure, two lions or passant with eight small billets (Friesland).
