Survival suit
Survival suit belonging to Tony Bullimore. All-in-one yellow yachtsman's survival suit. It is constructed from an outer shell of yellow nylon with a polyurethane backing and lined with blue nylon, these layers enclose a filler of Unicellular Polymeric foam. The collar area lined with a blue synthetic pile fabric, the knees and seat are reinforced with square patches of yellow fabric. Four pockets are stitched to the front of the suit, the waist is gathered with elastic at the back and a red webbing belt is fastened around the waist and fastens with a plastic clip buckle. The cuffs and ankles have inner storm cuffs to increase weatherproofing, red zips are used to aid dressing. Musto logo on left breast pocket. A hood is attached to the neck. Bullimore survived for five days in the water following the capsize of 'Exide Challenger' in January 1997. This is not the actual suit that he wore but a similar one.
