Awarded to S. P. O. Charles Trusler RN (1894-1966). Obverse: Winged Victory standing (front), a palm branch in her right hand, her left arm outstretched. Reverse: Within a laurel garland, Inscription: 'THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILIZATION. 1914-1919'. Inscription on edge: 'K.16156, C.TRUSLER, L. STO. R.N.' Fitted with a ring and watered silk ribbon of rainbow hues. Mounted on a bar with seven others.

Charles Trusler was a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy who served in both the First and Second World Wars. He served in HMS 'Hindustan' for most of the Great War. She was attached to the 3rd Battle Squadron based in turn at Rosyth, Portland and Sheerness. His medals indicate that he served in both the Atlantic and off North Africa during the Second World War. He left the Royal Navy at the end of World War II and died in 1966.
