Badge: Order of the British Empire, 3rd class (civil)
Awarded to Constructor Capt A J Merrington CBE RCNC in 1946. Neck badge. Silver gilt cross patonce the arms enamelled blue grey surmounted by the Imperial Crown. In the centre within a red enamelled circle with the motto "FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE" gilt conjoined busts of King George V & Queen Mary. Reverse: The Royal cypher "GRI". Suspended from a pink ribbon edged grey with a narrow central grey stripe. In fitted case of issue with one narrow ribbon and three wider ribbons.
