Pocket telescope

The tapering barrel of this achromatic telescope is covered in leather. There are two brass draw tubes and brass fittings, including a pivoted eyepiece cover. There are also two lens covers which are attached to the barrel with a carrying strap. The maker's name is inscribed on the smaller draw tube as 'Troughton & Simmns London.' The number II has also been roughly inscribed in a number of places, presumably during production. There is also an engraved stop line on the larger draw tube.
