Olympic Gold Medal

Awarded to Christopher Alan Boardman for winning the 6m class yacht race in "Lalage" at Kiel. Obverse: In high relief, Victory seated (left) holding a laurel wreath in her upraised right hand, a palm branch cradled in her left arm, an urn (L) and part of an amphitheatre with inscription above (R). "XI.OLYMPIADE BERLIN 1936". Reverse: A crowd of semi-naked men, one with a palm branch carried on the shoulders of two others, the remainder running. A colonnade in the background. Mounted in a glazed case with other Olympic commemoratives.
