Pistol

Flintlock pistol. The pistol is half stocked with brass mounts and a brass buttcap. The barrel tang is extended by a strip of iron reaching down to the buttcap and there is a similar iron strip incorporating the trigger slot below. The ramrod is missing. The pistol has a sidelock flintlock entirely made of iron and is fitted with a brass pan. The iron barrel has a circular external section with an iron tang. The calibre is approximately 0.725in. The brass mounts are inscribed with the letters 'OG' and the lock bears the inscription 'Manufacture Nationale de St Etienne'. The barrel is inscribed with an arrow over the letter 'B', and the butt is inscribed with the words 'Lescofie CB AN 13'.
