Pistol, 1856 pattern
Percussion pistol, 1856 pattern. The stock is fitted with a broad brass trigger guard and a flat brass buttcap with a steel lanyard ring. The fore-end cap and the ramrod pipe are brass. The iron swivel ramrod enters the stock via the pipe and the lock is missing. The barrel consists of a circular external section with a blade foresight and no rearsight. The calibre is 0.577in. The lockplate is engraved with the inscription 'Crown TOWER 1874' and is stamped with the number '25'.
