Sea Service Pistol
Sea service pistol. The stock is of walnut, fully stocked to the muzzle. The pistol is fitted with brass trigger guard and brass butt cap. A single brass ramrod pipe is fitted with a wooden ramrod with a brass tip. There is a steel trigger with a slightly backward curl. A steel belt hook is fitted to the side of the stock. The pistol is a sidelock, flintlock. The barrel is circular, smoothbore. The calibre is 0.56in. The pistol is inscribed on the lockplate 'TOWER' with a crown over 'GR'; on the barrel with a crown over 'GR' over an arrow crown over crossed sceptres, and on the stock with 'II P' under a crown. Near lockplate is inscribed with a crown over an anchor over '1806'.
