Sea Service Pistol

Sea Service pistol. This stock is of walnut and fully stocked to the muzzle. The pistol is fitted with a brass trigger guard and brass butt cap. A single brass ramrod pipe is fitted with a wooden ramrod with a brass tip. There is a steel trigger with a slightly backward curl. A steel belt hook is attached to the stock. The lock is a sidelock, flintlock. The barrel is of circular section, smoothbore. The calibre is 0.56in. The pistol is inscribed 'TOWER Crown' over 'GR'. The barrel is inscribed with a crown over 'GR' over an anchor, and a crown over crossed sceptres. The stock is inscribed 'I5 P' under a crown, and a crown over an anchor over '1806'.
