Button, Royal Marines Light Infantry uniform: pattern 1855
Button. Domed. Smooth edge. Within a wreath on a smooth background is a raised circular border with a stippled background with ROYAL MARINES LIGHT INFANTRY on it. In the centre is a pre-1901 crown with a fouled anchor. The rope is tied to the ring at the top, then goes under the right-hand stock, then under the shank to the left, over the shank to the right and then under the right arm.
