Medical equipment belonging to Dr Alexander Hepburne Macklin (1889-1967), surgeon on Shackletons last two expeditions. Needle case. Shell button fastening. Inscribed 'Needles' in black ink. Contains one hundred and two needles - curved and straight needles.
