Prize medal, International Maritime Exhibition, Havre, 1887. Obverse: Neptune seated (left), a female figure holding an olive branch and a caduceus in her right hand, a hammer in her left (right). The arms of L'Havre are shown between them and below the motto 'NVTRISIO ET EXTINGVO'. On shields above 'SVEDE ET NORVEGE', 'DANEMARK', 'ESPAGNE', 'AVTRICHE', 'RUSSIE', 'FRANCE', ANGLETERRE', 'ALLEMAGNE', 'ITALIE', 'PAYS BAS', 'AMERIQUE'. Reverse: A wreath of bullrushes, oak and olive, the prow of a galley, flanked by dolphins below. Legend: 'EXPOSITION . MARITIME . INTERNATIONALE . DU . HAVRE . 1887'. Inscription (incuse) 'W. DENNY & BROTHERS DUMBARTON'. Beaded edge.
