Bathythermograph Slides

A bathythermograph slide is a smoked glass slide used in a bathythermograph to obtain a record of temperature as a function of depth. This object is a grey painted wooden box with slots for 200 bathythermograph glass slides. Green baize lining. Containing 200 smoked glass slides, 55 used. Stamped date on inside edge of box 18 Jan 1964. Slides were used with bathythermographs NAV1769, NAV1965, NAV1964 and/or NAV1968.
