Bathythermograph Slides

This is a smoked glass slide used in a bathythermograph to obtain a record of temperature as a function of depth.

This object is a grey-painted wooden box, with white felt lining and slots for 200 slides; containing 198 smoked glass slides. Slides were used with bathythermographs NAV1769, NAV1965, NAV1964 and/or NAV1968.
