Octant box
Stepped octant box, painted blue on the outside, and cream on the inside, containing in the lid a label for Henry Hughes & Son, 59 Fenchurch Street, London and a label in MSS 'Helen, Francis, Isabel, Gordon, & Pauline gave this instrument to Father ¦ Christmas 1908'.
