Equatorial telescope

Field Eclipse Equatorial Telescope. This telescope was used on an eclipse expedition. Although it is unclear on which expedition it was used, it is likely to have been one in the first half of the 20th century to which Astronomer Royal Dyson sent Observatory staff. It used the mounting originally built for the astrographic telescope [AST0931]. Since arriving at the NMM in 1988 this telescope has never been assembled.

Telescope: This telescope has a 20-inch tube, 21 feet in length. The object glass and plate holder are missing.

Stand: see AST0931
