Circular Sheffield plate salver

A circular Sheffield plate salver on four feet, decorated with Greek key pattern and scrolled decoration, with a pierced gallery and beaded border. Inscribed in the centre: 'PRESENTED / to Captain Deacon/of the ship / 'Prince of Wales' / by the / CUDDY PASSENGERS / as a Token of Respect. / Oct 16th 1862'. The 'Prince of Wales' was built in 1842 by Greens of Blackwall.
