Spear

A spear from the Solomon Islands. Its point is covered with lashing through which protrude bone barbs. The lashing is covered with black paint, with a pattern of bands, zigzags and castellations in white. Below the barbs an oval hole in the shaft with incised decoration outlined in white. The rest of the shaft is plain wooden and tapered.
