The coaster Turquoise (1947) in Tilbury Tidal Basin, Essex
A starboard bow view of the motor coaster Turquoise (1947) alongside a shed on the north-east side of Tilbury Tidal Basin, working cargo. Her derricks are swung out to starboard and a dockside crane is transferring cargo between the ship and a line of open railway trucks. Two lighters, one laden and one empty, are alongside her. The lighterage tug Birchrock (1959), seen from ahead of her port beam, is on the left of the picture and the Gaselee tug Sauria (1937), seen from off her starboard bow, is beyond the lighters. The entrance to the south-east dry dock is in the background.
