A close-up view of the starboard propeller shaft of the passenger/cargo liner Arcadia (1954) while she is undergoing repairs in dry dock at Tilbury. The photographer is looking down from the top of the dock abreast the stern. The propeller has been lowered and the shaft withdrawn. A long thin steel rod is suspended from chain blocks in line with the empty shaft. There are no workmen in this view (see negative number P37864).
