Fireback
Cast iron fireback. Arched rectangular shape with stepped fillet edging. In in the arch, two mirrored putti holding a wreath from which hangs drapery, falling in two swags which pass through rings in each top corner of the plate and terminate in large tassels of fruit and flowers. These reach nearly to the bottom of the plate. At the bottom, the date between two intitials: 'G1687 S' in a central cartouche surmounted by a scallop shell.
