The general cargo ship Larchbank (1961) loading a motor launch in the West India Docks, London.
A port bow view of the general cargo ship Larchbank (1961) alongside a berth in the West India Docks, London. The photographer is standing on the quayside close to the bow looking towards the vessel's bridge while she loads a motor launch alongside number 3 hatch. The ship is badly obscured by quayside cranes. The name on the transom of the motor launch is partially obscured and what can be seen is NAMBA - HONIARA. Honiara is the capital of the Solomon Islands and is on Guadalcanal. The launch has been delivered to the quayside by an AEC Mercury lorry registration 48 DAL, owned by Hichens Transport Ltd of Penzance. A large number of cargo pallets are stacked on the quayside.
