The general cargo ship Markland (1953) in the Northwest Dry Dock, Tilbury, Essex
A slightly distant starboard bow view, taken from the top of the dock very fine off the bow, of the general cargo ship Markland (1953) dried out in the Northwest Dry Dock at Tilbury. She is supported by timber shores and her anchors and chains are flaked out on the floor of the dock. Trestle scaffolds are either side of her bows. In the Northeast Dry Dock in the background is the cargo liner Kumba (1958). She is seen from wide off her starboard bow and has just been refloated. She is very high in the water and her supporting timber shores are hanging down her side tied off to her rails with lines.
