'Royal George' carving
A carving from the ship of the line 'Royal George', possibly part of carving from the stern windows. It conists of a carved gilted border painted grren with a Royal crown in the middle. Inscribed at the bottom of the carving are the words. "ORNAMENT FROM THE ROYAL GEORGE FLAGSHIP OF ADMIRAL KEMPENFELT 108 GUNS WHICH FOUNDERED OFF SPITHEAD AUG 29 1782 WITH 1000 SOULS ABOARD 800 OF WHOM PERISHED".
