One of six geological specimens brought back from the Franklin Search expedition led by Captain Horatio Austin by Richard Vesey Hamilton (1829-1912) who was mate of 'Assistance' The specimen has a paper label: 'Cape Cockburn Lat 75, long 100 1/2 70"
