Medal commemorating sea trade revived, 1596. Obverse: Neptune riding on a dolphin, ships in the distance. In the clouds the Hebrew word Jehovah. Legend: 'SIDERE * PROFICIANT * DEXTRO * NEPTVNIA * REGNA' (Let the empire of the sea prosper under a happy star). Exergue: '1596'. Reverse: Crowned shield of West Friesland. Arranged in a circle the shields of 'ALCKMAER, HOORN, ENCKHVSEN, MEDENBLICK, EDAM, MONICEDAM, PVRMERENT', the names on scrolls between the shields. Legend: 'INSIGNIA FRISIAE CISRHENANAE' (coats of arms of Cisrhenian Friesland-North Holland).
