Medal commemorating the capture of the Morea, 1687. Obverse: A bird's-eye view of Venice facing San Marco Piazetta. Legend: 'VENETIA VRBIUM REGINA.' (Venice, queen of cities.) Reverse: The Doge in cap and robe seated in the chair of state (left), holding by chains a bound prisoner and a dog, both at his feet; two men (right), kneeling, and are unrolling and exhibiting to the Doge a large map of Morea. Edge: 'OMNES PROVINCIARUM ET RERUMP . MUTATIONES CAEDES SECUM FERUNT.' (All changes of territories and governments bring slaughter with them.) Legend: 'FORTITUDO . VENETIAE . OCCUPAT GRAETIAM.'
