Medal commemorating the acquittal of Admiral Augustus Keppel (1725-1786). Obverse: Bust of Admiral Keppel in a tie-wig and uniform (right). Legend: 'AUGUSTUS KEPPEL.' Reverse: A Roman judge seated (left), senators in background; female figure (right) trampling upon a many-headed serpent. Exergue: 'VIRTUS PRAEVALET.' (Virtue prevails).
